Times are tough. How do we find the funds?

Even during this rotten recession, there are ways:
  • Ask teachers to designate Annette's visit an In-House Field Trip, with parents contributing a few dollars each. Consider that Annette often speaks to at least 200 students in the course of a day, and even if not all kids contribute, parents' donations will do much to offset the cost.

  • Your principal and district have discretionary funds. Make a good case, and point out the curriculum relevance and value.  If you need more information to make your case, contact Annette.
  •

    • PTAs and PTOs are often willing to support enrichment programs, especially in areas like social studies which are being shut out by testing demands.

    • If you are a parent or teacher, talk with your PTA or media specialist/librarian. Many school librarians have money set aside for author visits, raised from book sales.
